CAMDEN — A program at Rutgers University–Camden designed to help registered nurses earn their New Jersey school nurse certification on a quicker basis will hold an open house from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The Rutgers–Camden School Nurse Certification Program allows registered nurses with baccalaureate degrees to complete coursework and receive New Jersey state certification on an accelerated basis.
Offered through the Rutgers–Camden College of Arts and Sciences, the program provides comprehensive education and clinical experience in the basic New Jersey requirements for school nurses, while including additional emphasis on treating a diverse student population and implementing substance abuse prevention programs on the elementary and high school levels. The Rutgers–Camden curriculum also provides coursework to help school nurses deal with disasters and other emergencies.
