Berenato grounded in faith and family

Faith, family and basketball.

Those three words have played a huge part in Agnus (McGlade) Berenato\’s life for as long as she can remember.

She leaned on her faith and her family when she made the decision to leave Georgia Tech after 15 years as the head women\’s basketball coach to accept the same position at the University of Pittsburgh four years ago.

The Gloucester Catholic High School graduate, who has nine siblings, leaned heavily on her faith when her father died when she was in the seventh grade and her mother was left to raise the children, half of whom were still school-aged.

The mother of five children who range in age from 13 to 24 has been married for 25 years, yet complacency has not set in, personally or professionally. Berenato does not believe in settling or leading an uneventful or unexamined life. Read more
