Four years ago two Alaskan business owners came together to establish a fishing tournament to honor the brave men and women who so proudly serve our nation. CHEER-The Brooklawn Public School District has been designated a high achieving district by NJ Commissioner of Education following a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation conducted by the New Jersey Department of Education. All NJ public school districts are monitored and evaluated by the state through a process known as The Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC). The system focuses on monitoring and evaluating school districts in five key components that, based on research, have been identified to be key factors in effective school districts.

Cherished father of Jean-Eddy, Emmanuel, Stanley (Louis), Kant, Paul, Wills, Pegy, Enaouidi, Barbara, Alberte, Stephanie and Betty. Devoted Brother of Michel-Brass and Rose. Marcel was born in Haiti and was a teacher in St. Louis, Haiti. Marcel moved to Canada and the United States. He lived in New York City and most recently, Willingboro.

Behind the pitching of Cody Brown and Mike Shawaryn, and a two-run double by Elliott McCummings in the seventh inning, the Gloucester Catholic High School baseball team defeated Morristown Beard 7-5 to win the Non-Public B state title at Toms River North High School. The title is the 14th for the Rams — the most in state history — and the seventh under coach Dennis Barth, who completed his 17th season at his alma mater.

On Saturday, the Rams\’ balanced attack pummeled Lodi Immaculate, 11-1, to win the Non-Public B state final. It was Catholic\’s first state crown since 2003. \”It\’s been like that all year,\” said Gloucester Catholic coach Joe Matranga. \”We have some big hitters on the team the Shayla Giosias, Olivia Lawrences and Colleen O\’Donnells but throughout the whole year 1-9 helped us win some other games, like they did today. Hagerty helped herself with a fourth-inning home run in her final official at-bat as she was intentionally walked her last two times up. She crushed a Kelly Hage offering to left to give the Rams a 3-0 lead.

TOMS RIVER The script didn\’t go exactly as planned for the Gloucester Catholic High School baseball team in the Non-Public B state championship game at Toms River North Saturday afternoon. The resilient Rams still found a way to write themselves a happy ending. They rebounded after an early deficit, held onto the lead despite the best efforts of North Jersey champ Morristown-Beard and their own miscues, and found a way to claim a 7-5 victory and extend their record to a 14th state title since the statewide playoffs began in 1971.
