Murder Charges Filed in 2017 Maple Shade Slaying of Mom, Son

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Maple Shade Police Chief Christopher J. Fletcher announced today that a 38-year-old Indian National has been charged with the March 2017 homicides of a woman and her young son inside an apartment in Maple Shade, New Jersey.

Nazeer Hameed was charged with the slayings and indicted earlier this year on two counts of Murder (First Degree), two counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Third Degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Fourth Degree).

“Our message today is clear – we do not forget, we do not forgive, and we do not stop pursuing those who take innocent lives,” Prosecutor Bradshaw said. “Justice is sometimes delayed based on the challenges of each case, but justice must always prevail, and it certainly will in this case.”

Juan Rojas, 77, of Woodbury

Juan Rojas, 77, of Woodbury, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with leukemia. He was surrounded by his loving family when he was called home to God.

Born on September 1, 1948, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Juan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He spent much of his life in Gloucester City, NJ, where he and his wife raised their daughters and built a home filled with love, laughter, and loud opinions.

Camden County stores clear of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula

On November 8, Byheart Whole Nutrition voluntarily recalled two batches of infant formula following notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of a broader ongoing investigation into a recent outbreak of infant botulism. On November 11, the FDA requested a recall expansion to include all ByHeart infant formula on the market. ByHeart expanded its recall to include all ByHeart formula nationwide, including cans and single-serve sticks. Since then, the Camden County Health Department has worked diligently to ensure that all locations where the product is typically sold have cleared it from shelves.

Louis Pecsi Book Signing Tour: “Theo’s Adventures in Time”

An artist and storyteller Louis Pecsi is currently doing a signing tour of his new children’s book “Theo’s Adventures in Time” at the Ram Arcade in Haddonfield. The signing will be between 2 and 330 pm on Dec 11.

“Theo’s Adventures in Time” chronicles the early and later inventions of a child genius, which include an everlasting bouncing ball and a pair of flying shoes. His early inventions pale in comparison to his ultimate triumph, which is a time machine named Kronos. Theo journeys through time and encounters dinosaurs, mummies and Albert Einstein. Theo is able to take selfies with a sleeping T Rex until, yikes, the beast wakes up.
