Loving husband and best friend of 15 years to Harry A. Friberg, Jr. Devoted mother of Mike S. Foster (Debbie Shannon) of West Deptford, Steven L. Foster (Angel) of Egg Harbor City, Brenda Diane Foster of Gloucester City, Brian J. Foster (Jennifer) of West Deptford and Julie A.Foster (Herb) of Clementon. Dear Sister of Anita Matlack (late Charles) of Florida, Helen Harper of North Carolina. Loving grandmother of Jeremy, Chelsea, Alvin, Brandon, Brett, Justin and Amanda. Beloved sister-in-law of Lois Dobos of Florida, Janet Mase of Sicklerville and Ginny Mowery of Holidaysburg, PA.
Sophie was a graduate of Pitman High School in 1961. She was part of a close knit group of women who still keep in contact today that are known as the \’Herd\’. She was an accomplished musician who played the accordion and played for the \’M-Tones\’ on the steel pier in Atlantic City. Sophie was an established country western musician and loved a variety of music from Elvis Presley to Ted Nugent. She also enjoyed spending her summers with her grandchildren in Wildwood. Sophie was a devoted volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk every year on Mother\’s Day in Philadelphia with her family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited her visitation on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:30 pm at the Westville United Methodist Church: Broadway and New Streets, Westville. Pastor Gary Brennan will officiate a memorial service at 1:30 pm in the church. Cremation will be private at the request of the family. There will be no evening visitation. Please no flowers for the visitation. Family requests that memorial donations be made in Sophie Diane\’s memory to the Susan G.
