Charlotte graduated from Overbrook High School Class of 1944. She worked as a legal secretary for the Atlantic Refining Co. from 1944 thru 1955. She was a long time member of the Haddon Township PTA serving as president from 1972 – 1973. She was a member of various Bridge Clubs in South Jersey. She was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church since 1960 serving as the Church Clerk from 1975 and Church Secretary from 1978 to present. She also served on numerous committees within the church as well as teaching youth & adult Sunday school.

Beloved son of Jon & Joann C. Garwood of Westmont, NJ. Dear brother of Samantha Garwood of Westmont, NJ. Loving Grandson of Marjorie Jersey and Ann Garwood. Dear nephew of Dave & Carole Jersey, Judi & Jim McKearney and Jim & Lynne Garwood. Cousin of Jeannine and Kevin Jersey, Jessica Jersey Patterson, Jim McKearney, Kristen Harberg and Carol Miller. Also survived by Lynne & Frank Malcolm and children and Larry & Jill Hilder and children.
Zac was active in HTAA sports as well as the Haddon Township H.S. Basketball and Soccer teams. He attended and played soccer for Ramapo College, was member of the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity and was a member of the Westmont United Methodist Church.

True Freshman Offensive Guard Honored by Two Media Outlets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers true freshman offensive guard Anthony Davis (Piscataway, N.J.) was named a First Team Freshman All-America by Rivals.com and a Second Team Freshman All-America selection by Scout.com. Davis has played in all 11 games for the Scarlet Knights in 2007, including six straight starts at right guard.

In his six games starting at right guard, Rutgers has averaged 210.7 rushing yards per game. RU averaged 173 rushing yards per game without Davis as a starter. The team has averaged 404.7 yards of total offense per game since Davis was inserted in the starting lineup.

Davis has yet to allow a sack this season for the Scarlet Knights. He is the first Freshman All-America selection for the Scarlet Knights since Ray Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, N.Y.) in 2005.

Davis and his teammates return to action Thursday, November 29 at Louisville. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.

SHIPLEE, MARK W. & DEBORA A.
Mark W. Shiplee, 54, and Debora A. Shiplee, 49, of Franklinville, NJ, died as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Thursday, November 22, 2007, in Monroe Township, NJ.
Mark and Debbie were married 19 years and spent most of that time in Erial, before moving to Franklinville 3 years ago.
Mark was employed by the Union County Construction Group in Gloucester City, NJ, as a carpenter, until his recent retirement, and Debbie was a housewife and mother. They were very family oriented. They especially enjoyed being with their grandchildren and their new found life and peace riding on their motorcycle. They were involved in charity work and were a very giving couple, who will be sadly missed.
Mark and Debbie are survived by their children, Chris Sawyer, William Sawyer, Amanda Shiplee, Tara Shiplee and Debora Sawyer, all of Franklinville andRebecca Casiano, of Blackwood; their grandchildren, CJ, Troy, Anthony, Jayden,Dominick, Alanzo, Cindy, Nicky, Melanie, Marissa, Kaitlyn and Alyssa; Debbie\’s mother, Antoinette Brown of Franklinville, her sister, Donna Brown of Erial and her brother, Thomas Brown of Virginia Beach, VA; and Mark\’s brother, Dane H. Shiplee of Williamstown and his sister, Lea A. Shiplee of Northfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend their memorial services on Thursday, November 29, at 12 Noon in the MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, where friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until Noon. Burial of their cremains will be private. Santa & Mrs. Claus will be stopping in front of the school to light the town tree (end of parade).

CAREY, DENNIS DAVID, JR.
Of Deptford, NJ on November 21, 2007, peacefully surrounded by his loving family Aged 60 years.
Denny proudly served in the U.S. Army Vietnam Era, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. During his 34 year career in Law enforcement , he served the community as a Dispatcher for the Deptford Police Department & a Police Officer for Wenonah and Mantua Township Police Department. He was a member of the VFW, the South Jersey Vietnam Vets, PBA Local #122 and the Tacoma Fire Company. He enjoyed vacationing at his retirement home in Beach Comber in Cape May, where he would drive the beat in his golf cart, catching up with new and old friends at the campground. Denny and his son spent countless times together on hunting excursions. You could always count on Denny if you needed him: he would be there to help or chauffeur you around town in any inclement weather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, spending time with them was pure delight for him. Denny was a loving and generous man who loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
