Reminiscing About \’Old Times\’ in Gloucester City

Bill:
A couple of us from the GHS Class of \’66 got together last weekend at Marie Roby\’s house and were reminiscing about old times. It was funny, Bill Roby asked me the name of the store on the corner of Cumberland and Atlantic because I grew up on Cumberland street right next to GHS gym (before it became the Mary Ethel Costello School). I told him it was Tucker\’s and it was where Cho Cho Murphy hung out.

Then he got excited and went and got his copy of the Gloucester City News with the article about Local Nicknames. There was Cho Cho\’s name, the second one in the article. It was fun reading and recognizing a lot of the names.

In the beginning of the article you said you would like any others. Well I have a few, I was known as Stan \”Moony\” Grieco, and there\’s Ed \”Skull\” Liebrand his cousin John \”Foot\” Setter, Joe \”Muskrat\” Levins, Frank \”Squirrel\” Nelson and Earl \”Obee\” O\’Brien………..
