Mass of Christian Burial was held for Fred Eckert, 84, of Westmont, who passed away on August 29, 2008, with his beloved wife Claire (nee DelQuatro) of 50 years in his arms and his family by his bedside.
Loving father of Fred J. Eckert (Joan) of Marlton, Lorie A. Watkins (Bill) of Collingswood, Claire B. Taylor (Jeff) of Westville and Donna L. Colclough (Craig) of Haddon Township. Dear brother of Christopher Eckert of West Chester. Also adored by his 14 loving grandchildren.
Fred was a graduate of Drexel University, retired from Campbell Soup Company after 30 years as a Research and Development Engineer and became active in the Campbell Kids Retirement Association. Fred enjoyed vacationing at The Villas, where he was a lifetime member of the Villas Fishing Club.
Fred courageously battled cancer for most of his life, fighting each obstacle that came his way with such determination and desire to live.
