$\"610x\"$ The Doll Festival, is observed on March 3. Here in Japan. This is the festival to wish for health, growth and happy marriages of young girls.

Dolls in ancient costumes are displayed on tiers of shelves covered with a bright red cloth.These dolls represent the emperor and empress, their noble court ladies-in-waiting and ministers.

The Doll festival dates from medieval times, but it was not until the 18th century that the custom of displaying dolls came into fashion.

The dolls are usually on display for only about a week, but it is customary it put them away soon after March 3 because leaving them out for a long time is said to delay a $\"12_Doll_Festival-Japan.26100844\"$ daughter\’s marriage.

I am sure that everyone will be happy to see spring come with this past snow storm your experiencing along the eastern coast.

As many of you know, I have been providing cat and dog food to families who may otherwise be unable to care for their pets during times of financial difficulty. $\"012208_0126_GloucesterC1\"$ My goal is that by coming to the aid of pet owners, they are able to keep their beloved pets instead of finding the pets a new home, relinquishing them to a shelter, or abandoning them.

The demand is great and I am in need of bags of dry cat food, any size and brand. If you can help please email me at [email protected].

All-MAAC Men\’s Basketball Rookie Team

EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announces the 2008-2009 All-MAAC Men\’s Basketball Rookie Team, selected by the MAAC’s head coaches.

The team is made up of Scott Machado from Iona College, Anthony Winbush from Loyola College, R.J. Hall from Marist College, Novar Gadson from Rider University and Kyle Downey from Siena College. One of these five players will be named the 2008-2009 MAAC Rookie of the Year, also selected by the head coaches of the league. The award winner will be announced on Thursday, March 5 at a 5:00 p.m. awards reception at the Times Union Center, the site of the 2009 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships.
