Survived by his wife Pat (Maier) of 49 years, three daughters, Pat (John) Hagerty, Cindy (Richard) Holmes and Kim (Gary) Gavin, 7 grandchildren: Megan, Ryan, Candice, Aaron, Kevin, Zachary and Tiffany, one sister Elaine Hyde, two sisters-in-law Penny Russell and Kate Berwick and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bessey was a lifelong member of United Fire Company #1 joining at the age of 16, holding various positions including Chief and was a member of the New Jersey Fire Chiefs Association. Officer of the Mt. Ephraim Police Department, again, working his way up to the ranks to Chief. Also a member of the Camden County Police Chiefs Association. He also worked Atlantic City Casino Security for 23 years.
