John E. \”Bear\” Waldron, Little League Coach, WW II Navy Veteran

\"Cross WALDRON, John E. \”BEAR\” On March 17, 2009. Age 82. Of Gloucester City, formerly of Bellmawr and Barrington, NJ. Beloved husband of the late Ruth E. (nee Marsh). Devoted father of John (Barbara) of Chesapeake,Va., Patricia Newcome (James) of Brooklawn, NJ and Michael of Bellmawr, NJ. Loving grandfather of Sean, Brian & Dayna Waldron, Michelle Petrello (Anthony) and James & Joseph (Jennifer) Newcome. 5 Great-grandchildren – Dante, Desean, Kaylee, Dylan & Alex. 1 Sister Mary Falls (Hugh) of Phila, Pa. Several nieces and nephews and a VERY special friend. John was born and raised in Phila, Pa. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He loved coaching Little League Baseball which he did for many years with Camden City & Bellmawr, NJ. He was employed at Food Fair Stores, Inc. for many years and also the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Friday evening from 7 to 9pm and Saturday morning from 9 to 10am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St. (at Brown St.) Gloucester City, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Mary\’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City. Cremation and Inurnment with military honors will be private at New St. Mary\’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
