Brother of the Wolf Honors Jr Handlers

Brother of the Wolf, located in Gloucester City, held a ceremony for its first graduating class of Junior Handlers today.

The Junior Handler\’s Certification course, taught by Dawn Watson, owner of the school, shows young people the proper care and handling of the family dog. Students demonstrate their skills by working with small, calm dogs in a supervised setting. They are offered a binder filled with information, hand-outs, and pictures. The curriculum is read by the students and instructor in an interactive format and each student is encouraged to ask questions and work as a team.

Brett Pittman and Jennifer Testa, graduates of the program, received diplomas certifying them as Junior Handlers. This honor will enable them to handle their dogs at any of Brother of the Wolf\’s classes. Students that are not certified must be at least 15 years of age to handle their dogs at the facility.

In addition, Jennifer and Brett have proven that they are skilled in many facets of dog care and can identify trouble areas in training.

Attending the ceremony were parents and families of the graduates.

Brother of the Wolf will be holding another certification program in the spring. There is no charge to young people residing in Gloucester City. If you know of an individual between the ages of 12 and 15 that is interested in this program please email [email protected]
