The State Local Finance Board recently fined four Gloucester City officials $100 each for refusing to file the Financial Disclosure Statements (FDS) due on April 30, 2008. The four officials who were fined are:

Ryan Murphy, Planning & Zoning Board
Jack Brandt, Planning & Zoning Board Alternate
Colleen Hagan, Library Board
Joanne B. Gurick, Library Board

I originally filed my complaint on September 11, 2009 against nineteen (19) Gloucester City officials for failing to file their FDS.

The Riversharks Infielder is assigned to AA Akron Aeros 

The Riversharks announced today that Raul Padron has been signed by the Cleveland Indians and assigned to AA Akron Aeros. Padron’s final at bat with the Riversharks was a game winning, walk off RBI Double. He was third in the Atlantic League and leading the team in batting average (.335), was leading the team in on base percentage (.385), and was tied for the team lead in home runs (7). 

 \”I love that the [Riversharks] gave me an opportunity. Now I [got] signed and am going back to the minor league affiliates and my goal is to try as hard as I can to get to the Big Leagues\” said Padron.

Gloucester City News

Following a spirited discussion, members of the Gloucester City Planning Board approved preliminary plans for a second-story addition to a former gas station at Broadway and Middlesex Street, pending resolution of a sidewalk issue.

The property, which had been in the City’s possession, was purchased by the owners of Gloucester Travel & Cruise, currently located across the street at 114 N. Broadway.

Local attorney William Dilks, Esq., represented the applicants, who purchased the travel business in 2004.

Dilks outlined co-owner Robert Booth’s plans to add a second floor apartment to the long-vacant building. Booth intends to move Gloucester Travel into one side of the first-floor retail space and then move himself into the proposed two-bedroom apartment.
