LANCASTER, Pa. — Patricia S.W. Epps, director of athletics and recreation, announced Ben Delia as head men\’s and women\’s swimming coach at Franklin & Marshall College. A 2005 graduate of Hamilton College, Delia spent the last three seasons as head women\’s swimming coach at Randolph-Macon where he developed a successful women\’s team and showed his recruiting skills by engineering the rebirth of the men\’s team.
\”We look forward to welcoming Ben to Lancaster,\” Epps said. \”It\’s great to have a coach who has had success as both a coach and an athlete at the Division III level.\”
In 2008-09, the Jackets went 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the ODAC. Under the direction of Delia, 113 swimmers set personal-best swims. Randolph-Macon\’s 11 dual-meet wins set a single season record, while eight Jackets were named to the All-ODAC team. Six different swimmers helped set new Estes Aquatic Center pool records, while five swimmers set six school records as well.
