So in the social media age, when people are willing to donate money in support of a stranger’s creativity through platforms like Kickstarter, it makes sense to try to extend that generosity to the world of agriculture, allowing people to give to small farms whose missions they support.

The City\’s Third Annual TRIBUTE TO THE PHILIPPINES is set for this weekend plus the popular regional craft show sponsored by the Jersey Shore Artisans Guild.

 

Then next weekend, July 28, Ocean City presents its 58th Annual Night in Venice Boat Parade and Bay Front Home Celebration. This event is preceded by the Merchants of Venice Seafood Festival, July 27 in the downtown.

Laura Rae Tribbett, age 98, Millsboro, DE, formerly of Collingswood

 

 

Age 98, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Collingswood, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, DE. She was born in Camden, NJ, on August 23, 1913, daughter of the late William Wood and Rae Ethel Warner Wood .

 

Mrs. Tribbett had worked for over forty years for RCA as a soderer for speakers used in the Victor Victrola Machines. She enjoyed playing bingo, completing word find puzzles; was an avid reader and had formerly attended the Roxanna Cheer Center.

 

She is survived by a Great Niece – Kimberly J. Minnick, Millsboro, DE; Great Great Niece – Sareana Feaster and husband Kenneth and daughter Lillian of Sharon, PA; Great Great Nephew – Jesse Engelgau and friend Robin White and his daughter Elena of Lewes, DE; Great Great Nephew – Ryan Minnick and fiancé Samantha Richey and his children Kylie and Layla of Long Neck, DE; Great Nephew – Jack Loftin and wife Lisa and children Katherine and Samuel, and Great Nephew Bill Clements and wife Terri and children Kevin, Tommy, Jason, Amy and Erin (god-daughter of Mrs. Tribbett).

 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 10 to 11 AM at the McCann-Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ. Methodist Funeral service will begin at 11 AM in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Gary Brennan of Colonial Manor United Methodist Church. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Office of Catholic Education announces Dr. Carol A. Cary as the new Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Ms. Jacqueline P. Coccia as the new Superintendent of Elementary Schools effective July 19, 2012. Dr. Cary and Ms. Coccia were chosen to lead the Archdiocese\’s 17 high schools and 123 elementary schools respectively through an exhaustive search process that included consultation from Dr. John DeFlaminis, Executive Director of the Penn Center for Educational Leadership, and Mr. Edward Hanway, Chairman of the Faith in the Future Foundation.
