La Salle Women\’s Soccer Beats VCU, 2-1, In Overtime To Win Atlantic 10 Championship


KINGSTON, RI – La Salle women’s soccer wins its first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship title en route to head coach Paul Royal’s 100th win with a 2-1 overtime win against VCU.


Junior Renee Washington (Ewing, NJ / Pennington Prep) scored both goals for the Explorers (17-4-1), who advance to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. The pairings will be announced on Monday at 4:30 PM on NCAA.com. A watch party that begins at 4:15 PM in Gola Arena is open to the public. Free food and drinks will be available as well as an opportunity to congratulate the team.

(November 4, 2012) – The No. 7 Stevens Institute of Technology men’s soccer team completed its dominance of the Empire 8 Conference with a 3-2 shootout victory over Ithaca College in the Empire 8 Championship Match on Sunday. It is the sixth-straight Empire 8 crown for the program, and ninth-straight overall conference title. Officially, the game is recorded as a tie and the Ducks and Bombers will share the 2012 Empire 8 Championship.
