Congressman Andrews Looks Back at 2012 | cnbnews

As we head into 2013, I wanted to ask for your views and report back to you on my efforts to improve our community and our nation.

Without question, in stores, factories, schools, and family kitchens, the main issue facing our country and South Jersey is how to improve our economy. This is a compelling task for business, labor and non-profits, academic and health care institutions, faith organizations and people of all political persuasions. Everyone has a role to play. To this end, it is imperative that both political parties work together. In Washington, this requires decisions that will reduce our deficit and enable investment in better schools, roads and transit systems, clean water and better health care for all. I will continue to support solutions that properly balance reductions in spending with revenue increases, without raising taxes on the middle class but instead requiring a modest increase in revenues from the most fortunate Americans.

Happy New Year from the Freeholder Board

The Camden County Freeholder Board has embarked on a variety of big initiatives in 2012. We’ve made prudent investments in our community and continue to move forward on a bold plan to enhance public safety for our residents. Moving into 2013, I’d like to reflect on some of the accomplishments we’ve made in the past year. Below are some highlights:

Overhauling the Camden County park system

In 2012, the Freeholder Board created a 21st century vision for the 2,200 acres of the Camden County Park System. The largest changes are coming to Cooper River Park, an international destination for rowing competition. The park will receive a full facelift that will create a new sense of place for the focal point of our park system. In addition, several other parks have been overhauled and had new investments this year.

Longtime Bellmawr Councilman Resigns

By Chris Concannon

Gloucester City News

For the second time in the last 90 days, the Borough of Bellmawr held honors for another departing Councilman.

After approximately 36 years at the post, Councilman Lou Di Angelo sat on the panel for the final time during last week’s meeting, having lost the June Primary Election to Councilman-elect Steve Hagerty.

As the Director of Recreation for many of those years, Di Angelo was instrumental in developing and overseeing numerous Borough-sanctioned programs and activities – including the summer youth work and day programs.
