Funeral Services Announced for David Compton, age 28, of Woodbury

On January 11, David William Compton was suddenly and tragically taken from us. Born \"629711\" May 15, 1985 in Seoul, South Korea.

David arrived into his forever family on Oct. 15, 1985 and became a naturalized citizen of the United States in November 1988.

He served as an altar boy at St. Patrick Church, played youth soccer, baseball and roller hockey and intramural roller hockey in high school. Dave was an avid Flyers fan!

During high school and through college worked part time and summers at DaVinci Engineering in Woodbury where he gained his interest in engineering and muscle cars. He purchased and fixed up his beloved Camaro IROC Z28, even learning to install a new big block engine. He was currently employed at McKean Defense Group, Philadelphia.

He was the loving son of William C. and Maureen (Burt), little brother of Tracey (Jason), bestest Uncle of Tyler and Godfather of his niece, Tessa. Grandson of Charles and Catherine Engler Compton (deceased) and Raymond and Anna Leddy Burt (deceased). Devoted nephew to Bruce, Mary Anne, Ray, Kathy, Eileen, Anne, Joan, Jimmy, Terry, Joe and Kris. Cousin to Chrissy, Patrick, Ryan, Jenn, Lauren, Marcie, Dan, Joe and Olivia. Lifelong friend of Lenny, Paul and Kyle. Great friend and brother to so many others.

As in life, David continues to help others through the gift of organ and tissue donation.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Team TJ, 1313 Marlkress Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 or NJ Sharing Network Foundation, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974.

Family, friends and co-workers are invited to his Life Celebration by attending his viewing on Wednesday 5-8:30 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St. Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Mass Thursday 11 AM in Holy Angels Parish at Saint Patrick RC Church, 64 Cooper St., Woodbury, NJ. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.

Mr. Compton was accidentally shot by a off duty Deptford police officer a week ago. He was visiting the police officer at his home when the accident occurred.
