TRENTON) – Final legislative approval for four Assembly Democratic gun violence prevention measures, economic development incentive reform, social media instruction for students, making dog fighting a crime and protecting first responders top Monday’s Assembly voting session.

The four gun violence prevention bills – these dealing with school security, mental health records, improved firearms information sharing among law enforcement and unlawful weapon disposal – would be the first from the Assembly Democratic gun violence prevention effort to go to the governor’s desk.

PHILLIP S. COWGILL, age 61, of Gloucester City, NJ, died suddenly on May 16, 2013.  He is the beloved father of Pauline M. Shinault (Jon) , Keith M. Cowgill, and the late Phillip S. Cowgill Jr, loving grandfather of Jonny, dear brother of Bob and Bruce Cowgill and the late Raymond and Ronald Cowgill and Eleanor Settar. He is also survived by his devoted girlfriend Lorraine Quinn and her children and grandchildren, along with many other loving family members. 

Phillip was a Navy Vet, loved playing music and was a member of his band the Hollywood Knights. He was a member of the Sportsman AC and the Memorial Club. He was an avid golfer and darts player and thoroughly enjoyed frequently visiting the Turf Club, but above all Phillip loved spending time with his family and friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to meet Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:30pm at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME 700 Powell Street, Gloucester City. Funeral Services will be held 8:30pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. With Manny Pacquiao followingChinese star Zou Shiming to the glitzy casino haven near Hong Kong, Macau looks set to copy Vegas by becoming a boxing capital — with promoters eyeing a huge potential audience in China.

The November 24 bout, between Pacquiao and American Brandon Rios in the semi-autonomous territory, will be the biggest pro fight yet on Chinese soil. Not surprisingly, it will be financially advantageous for all concerned.

Hello Everyone, 

Over the past six month I have been working with the Pennsylvania Environmental Council,

taking a Delaware River Ambassador course. Our job as Ambassadors is to bring the general public to enjoy the tidal Delaware River.

As part of our project on June 8th, I along with other Delaware River Ambassadors will be hosting a Boat Parade on the Delaware River. There will be a lot going on that day, land and water activities. There will also be rides on the North Wind Sail Boat from Gloucester City giving free rides at Penn\’s Landing.

We will be having VIP parties on either side of the river, Camden Wiggins Marina, and Philadelphia, Penn\’s Landing Marina.

There is all of this and much more. 

 

I hope all of you will be able to come out and enjoy this boat parade in one way or another.

Ewing, NJ … Phil Jennings, head coach of the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field programs at The College of New Jersey, received word from the NCAA that three of his student-athletes qualified to compete at the 2013 Outdoor Track and Field Championships held later this week at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

Seniors Andy Gallagher (New Foundland, NJ/Milford), Steven D’Aiutolo (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and junior Brigit Roemer (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) made the field of 24 in their respective events to earn an invitation to the national tournament. Gallagher will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while D’Aiutolo will participate in the triple jump. Roemer qualified to compete in the high jump.
