ARCHBISHOP CHAPUT CALLS FOR DAY OF PRAYER AND PENANCE

 IN RESPONSE TO GOSNELL CONVICTION

 

 

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. is encouraging the clergy and faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to observe Friday, May 24, 2013 as a day of prayer and penance, in response to the trial and conviction of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell.

 

Archbishop Chaput is asking that the faithful participate in this day, with others or alone, by: attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion, meditating on the Word of God, spending time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, reciting the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, making the Way of the Cross, or fasting and abstaining from eating meat.

Four Hawks Named to Atlantic 10-All Conference Baseball Second Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Four Saint Joseph’s baseball student-athletes were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team on Tuesday afternoon. Senior shortstop Anthony Cirillo (Freehold, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), junior outfielder Chris Hueth (Spring Lake, N.J./St. Rose), junior relief pitcher Jimmy Yacabonis (Matawan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), and sophomore catcher Brian O’Keefe (Albany, N.Y./South Colonie) were selected to the squad in a vote of the league’s head coaches.

OBITUARY: NEIL A. ERVOLINI, of Westmont age 63

Neil A.  


On May 18, 2013. Age 63. Of Westmont. Loving father of Lisa Johnson (William). Beloved grandfather of Amber Avis, Amanda Avis and Kyle Johnson. Dear brother of Michael Ervolini (Carol), James O’Brien (Sonya), Peggy Christie (Bob) and Marie Vitelkites (Joe). Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

 

Neil was an active member and devoted volunteer of the Joseph L. DeMarco, III Annual Golf Tournament held every September. 

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, June 1st from 5 to 7 PM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City.
