Rutgers Football Earns Team Academic Excellence Award

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Rutgers football program has earned the 2012- \"Back2back\"13 BIG EAST Team Excellence Award, the conference office announced Wednesday. It is the second-straight year the Scarlet Knights won the honor for football.

RU was chosen as the BIG EAST’s football winner based on the 2012-13 grade-point average (GPA) of each student-athlete who appeared on the RU roster as of the last contest of the championship segment in each conference-sponsored sport.
