What is a Tornado Watch?

WatchWarning

This is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Their size can vary depending on the weather situation. They are usually issued for a duration of 4 to 8 hours. They normally are issued well in advance of the actual occurrence of severe weather. During the watch, people should review tornado safety rules and be prepared to move a place of safety if threatening weather approaches. A Tornado Watch is issued by the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in Norman, Oklahoma. Prior to the issuance of a Tornado Watch, SPC will usually contact the affected local National Weather Forecast Office (NWFO) and they will discuss what their current thinking is on the weather situation. Afterwards, SPC will issue a preliminary Tornado Watch and then the affected NWFO will then adjust the watch (adding or eliminating counties/parishes) and then issue it to the public. After adjusting the watch, the NWFO will let the public know which counties are included by way of a Watch Redefining Statement. During the watch, the NWFO will keep the public informed on what is happening in the watch area and also let the public know when the watch has expired or been cancelled. Source: weather.gov

GHOST STORY

BY JOHN REYNOLDS

SPECIAL TO CNBNEWS.NET

\”They must be ghosts,\” thought college classics professor Philip Roth, wondering where the MIA students were who have yet to appear in his Greek Tragedy class five weeks into the semester. \”What are they, spooks?\”, he asked his class. It turns out they weren\’t apparitions, but a couple of black students, fast-tracked through college thinking they were entitled to no-show degrees guaranteed by government quotas. Being Roth is Jewish, and the missing students black, all hell broke loose on campus.
\"Unknown\"

\”Spooks\” acquired a new meaning at some point along its etymological development, and Roth was accused of being a racist. His colleagues scapegoated him on the altar of political correctness, afraid to speak out and put their careers in jeopardy. It turns out Roth wasn\’t Jewish, or even white, but black. Though his father had the traditional Negro look, his mother was a fair-skinned mix of white, black, and Indian.

The Skeletal Remains of Washington Township Man Discovered

For Immediate Release/October 6, 2013

The skeletal remains of a man identified as Michael R. Miller, age 62, reported missing from his Washington Way apartment in Washington Township NJ on 11/19/12, were found and reported to police by an individual passing through a wooded area behind the apartment complex on Barnsboro Rd. Friday night about 9:45.

The remains were identified by jewelry and medical records. Results of an autopsy by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner are pending.

Miller was reported missing by the apartment complex property manager under what law enforcement officials considered unusual circumstances. Miller had not been seen or heard from in about two months and was two months behind in rent payments. His car was still parked at the apartment and his cell phone was left in his unit. Miller lived alone as of September 2012 and previously shared his apartment with a son and a friend of the son.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor\’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department are investigating.
