OBITUARY: Esther V. Woolford, formerly of Collingswood

 

Born: December 21, 1925

Died: July 21, 2015

(nee Gilbert) On July 21, 2015, formerly of Collingswood, NJ. Age 89 years.

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Charles E. Woolford, Jr. Dear mother of Robert (Peggy) Woolford and Carol R. (Boyd) Burrows, both of Haddon Twp., NJ. She is also lovingly survived by five grandchildren: Matt (Kaitlyn), Christine (Dan), Michael (Kate), Lauren and Jennifer; two great grandsons, Andrew and Henry and several nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Beulah Bradley and the late S. Edwin Gilbert.

Esther grew up in Woodlynne and Pennsauken, NJ. She raised her family in Collingswood, where she lived for 55 years. Esther was a member of Embury United Methodist Church for over 50 years and attended many activities there over the years. She served on the Women\’s Auxiliary for the Collingswood Manor for more than 20 years. She was also employed at Curtis Publishing and The Greater Collingswood Children\’s Center. In her later years, the Camden County Senior Lunch Program brought many new friends into her life. Esther enjoyed her family dinners, riding her bicycle, going to casinos and vacationing anywhere, especially Disney World.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday 9:30 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment in the Garden of Honor at Harleigh Cemtery, Camden, NJ.
