
Nancyanne Caruso passed away quietly surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. She was 91.
Nancy was the original owner of Arts Plus in Collingswood, New Jersey which she started as a ceramic shop. During that time she became an integral member of the Collingswood Business Association and helped transform Haddon Avenue into what it is today. She was the founder of the Collingswood Mayfair which she started as a juried art exhibit along Haddon Avenue 46 years ago. She did this while serving as the Executive Secretary of the Oil Heat Association of South Jersey, which is an association of fuel oil dealers. She held this position for over 40 years until she was 83 years old and finally retired.
Nancy is described by family and friends as being a tour du force. She was a woman pioneer in every sense. She was a witty, funny, outspoken leader. She was charitable and a mentor to everyone she met. She loved her Philly sports teams, her church and her large family.
She was married for 71 years to her loving husband, Sam who was also her best friend. Together they raised six beautiful children who carry on her legacy: Jerry Caruso (Anne), Marianne Caruso, Sam Caruso (Rita), Daniel Caruso (Kathy), Joe Caruso and Matthew Caruso (Tina). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Santo Caruso (Tracy), Kerrianne Caruso-Gazdzinski (Ray), Christopher Caruso (Alison), Katie Caruso-Devaney (Mike), Biagio Caruso, Gabriel Caruso, Sebastiano Caruso, Francesco Caruso, Gianna Caruso and Natalia Caruso and 4 great grandchildren: Violet, Isla, Henry and Emerson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, December 5, 10:00 to 11:30 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John Church, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. Inurnment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nancy’s memory to Sacred Heart Church, 1739 Ferry Ave., Camden, NJ 08104 (https://sacredheartofcamden.com) to assist with Christmas Baskets for those less fortunate and one year of education expenses for students at Sacred Heart school.
