I-295 southbound/Al-Jo’s Curve Overnight Closure to Continues

(Trenton) – The I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured overnight next week as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. This is a continuation of work that began on Monday, January 5.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, February 9 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, and continuing each night through Thursday, February 12 at the same time, the I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The right lane on I-295 southbound also will be closed just after Exit 28/Route 168. All motorists traveling on I-295 southbound will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26. The closures are necessary for removal of the temporary Browning Road Bridge west abutment. The following detour will be in place:

Cantey Scores 26 to Lead Rowan Men’s Basketball Over Ramapo, 73-65, on Senior Day

GLASSBORO, NJ – Taz Cantey scored a game-high 26 points and Brycen Williams had 16 as Rowan picked up a 73-65 win over Ramapo on men’s basketball Senior Day at Esby Gym. Cantey, Williams and Chris McCarron were honored prior to the game for Senior Day while the Profs earned their fifth consecutive win and improved to 9-6 in the NJAC, and 9-13 overall. 

Cantey made four three-pointers and recorded his third straight game of 20-plus points and seventh of the season. Khalil Baker posted his sixth double-double of the year, and second straight, with 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

A 9-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half, with four points from Williams and three from Cantey, propelled the Profs to the win. The spurt gave Rowan a 51-46 edge and the lead for good.

Camden County Roadwork Projects

Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of February 9 to February 14. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Berlin Township

Crews will be working on Hopewell Road & Cooper Road from Tuesday, Feb. 10 to Friday, Feb. 13 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a full road closure of Hopewell Road between Cooper Road & Jackson Road in Waterford Township and a full road closure of Cooper Road between Cushman Avenue & Hopewell Road in Berlin Township.

Pennsauken Man Arrested for Attempting to Lure Underage Girl

Camden County, NJ – A Pennsauken man has been arrested and charged for attempting to meet with an
underage girl to engage in sexual conduct after chatting online, reported Camden County Prosecutor
Grace C. MacAulay.
Gustavo Sosa, 31, is charged with 2nd
-degree Attempting to Lure a Child, 2nd
-degree Attempted Sexual
Assault, 2nd
-degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, and 3rd
-degree Attempted Endangering the
Welfare of a Child. Additionally, he was charged with two counts of Engaging in Prostitution (disorderly
persons offenses).
On February 3, 2026, Sosa began communicating online with a person who he believed was a 14-year-old
girl. Meanwhile, the person chatting with him was actually an undercover detective from the Camden
County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit. During the conversation, Sosa arranged a meeting at
a park in Pennsauken for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with the girl in exchange for money.
On February 4, 2026, Sosa was taken into custody at the meeting location by members of the Cherry Hill
Police Department Tactical Response Team and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. He was remanded
to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

Mastriano, Sikaris Lead Rowan Women’s Basketball Over Ramapo, 56-42

Jes Mastriano scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Rowan a 56-42 win over Ramapo on women’s basketball Senior Day at Esby Gym. Mastriano and classmates Charlotte Carlies and Jess McLaughlin were honored prior to the game. 

The win boosts the Profs to 14-8 (10-5 NJAC) and improves their home record this season to 8-2. 

Mastriano was 5-for-6 from the field to tie her season high with 16 points and Christina Sikaris scored 13 as she connected on three three-pointers. Carlies blocked three shots in the win and Haley Selmer grabbed seven rebounds. 

The Profs were on target from the start, hitting 56 percent (14-of-25) from the field to run up a 34-22 lead. In the first quarter, Rowan scored 11 in a row, with four from Haley Selmer, to take a quick 17-4 lead, and closed out the period up by 19-8.

Rev. Richard Timothy Kunzman, 89, of Washington, D.C.

Rev. Richard Timothy Kunzman, 89, of Washington D.C., passed away peacefully with his caregiver, Armando Almada, at his side. He was born on October 15, 1936, in Morristown, New Jersey, the beloved son of the  late Charles Kunzman and Mary Helen (Coleman) Kunzman. 

Father Kunzman devoted his life to the service of God and others through the Catholic Church. Ordained to the priesthood, he spent decades in ministry offering spiritual guidance, pastoral care and compassionate outreach to individuals and communities in need. He was most recently affiliated with Cross International Catholic Outreach in Boca Raton, Florida  where he continued his Catholic mission of Time, Talent and Treasure. 

A man of deep intellect and devotion, Father Kunzman earned a Doctorate in Ministry, reflecting both his academic excellence and his lifelong commitment to pastoral leadership. Known for his kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit, Father Kunzman touched countless lives. He was deeply loved as a friend, mentor, and spiritual guide, and will be remembered for making the world feel brighter through his presence, wisdom, and compassion. Father Kunzman chose a life wholly devoted to his vocation and to the people he served. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother and one sister and is survived by nieces and many friends whose lives were  enriched by his ministry.
