BRIDGETON – Kris Brown of Garton\’s Rigging and Chris Rollins of Forest Grove Athletic Association hooked up in a pitchers duel Sunday afternoon that defined the championship game of the 42nd annual Bridgeton Invitational Baseball Tournament.
Both took no-hitters into the fifth inning of the seven-inning game, and that combined with the tournament\’s famed speedup rules to make the contest progress seemingly in double-time.

Hello All,
Trying to save time by emailing you the 2008 sign registration form. For those business\’s and people who have had signs in the past it is only $50 to renew.
Any new companies or people that can help our program/kids out it is $100 for first year than $50 thereafter.
The signs look great!

KIRKUK, Iraq, Aug. 18, 2008 – Thirty-seven Iraqi women attended their first day of training Aug. 16 at the Kirkuk Police Academy in northeastern Iraq.
Officials said it’s been a year since the academy has seen any women recruits, and a class of this size is unprecedented.\”We need these females badly,\” Lt. Col. Muid, a cadre member at the academy, said. \”It is our religious custom not to touch our women, so we cannot search females. Our female [Iraqi police] will be extremely important to use at checkpoints and government buildings throughout the province.\”
Muid also noted that the women would bring a different perspective to policing. \”Women think differently than men,\” he said. \”They will bring fresh ideas to how we conduct business.\”
The class’s 37 women are split into squad-like elements. Each squad will have a U.S. military policewoman from the 10th Mountain Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team helping out: Army Sgt. 1st Class Sumalee Bustamante, who has 16 years of Army service and is a former drill sergeant, and Army Spc. Jennifer Swierk, who has served for two years.

Note: This article originally appeared in May, 08. I gathered all the posts and placed the names in paragraphs. I plan to submit it to the Gloucester City News for publication. If you have any names to add now is the time to do it. Before submitting read and check to make sure you are not duplicating ones that are already posted.
Hey Bill,
A few years ago you printed an article in the GCN that listed nicknames for Gloucester boys over the years. Gloucester City by far is the only place I have been to where so many people\’s nicknames are used instead of their given ones. I’ll try to list as many as I can in this forum because I have seen so many posts with different names and it reminded me of that article.
Could you perhaps fill in the blanks on your page somewhere?
Here are some names that come to mind: Bill \”Ozark\” Underwood, Tom \”Choo Choo\” Murphy, \”Jungle\” Murphy, Owen \”Dinkie\” Brennan, Geo \”Pinkie\” Cleary, Bill \”The Buck\” Graves, Gary \”WooWoo\” Gross, Bob \”Dece\” Decierno, Dan \”Obie\” Obrien, Paul \”Nipper\” Nazar, Tom \”Tut\” Kilcourse.
Joe \”Lizzard\” DiFelice, Joe \”The Jet\” Stiles, Woodrow \”Woody\” Dooley, Bill \”The Jolly Green Giant\” Gross, Bill \”Wibby\” Yeager, \”Corkie\” McNutt, Bill \”The Worm\” Seddon, Charles \”Ziggy\” Zearfoss, Bill \”The Pen\” Cleary, Tower Commander, 8th Ball Willie, Wayne Weasel Riddel, Chalie The Clip Huber, Ken Chuckie Taggart, Bill Jolly Green Giant Gross.
