William Silver of Mt. Ephraim died on January 11, 2008 at the age of 83. Mr. Silver worked for Whitman\’s Chocolates for 45 years. He was also the owner of Silver Sweets. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 150 in Mt. Ephraim and a former Mummer in the Garden State String Band. Bill bowled in the Senior League at Westbrook and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gloucester City. Mr Silver played semi-professional football with the Camden Bears.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth E. (nee Robinson). Devoted father of Joy Carty (Tom) and Carol Smith (Tom). Loving grandfather of Ryan and Carly Hertline. Step-grandfather of June Jackson, Thomas, Christopher & Ryan Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm and Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Service Monday 11:30am at the funeral home. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
