The I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured tonight as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. In addition, the I-76 eastbound Exit 1A to I-295 southbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured Friday night.

2026 Primary Election on June 2nd

Camden County is encouraging residents to get ready for the 2026 Primary Election and make a plan to have their voices heard. One of the easiest ways to vote is by applying for Vote By Mail. The deadline to apply is TuesdayMay 26th, so now is a great time to get it done and check it off your to-do list. Camden County Roadwork Projects

 Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of May 4 to May 8. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

In addition, the right two lanes on I-76 eastbound are scheduled to be closed overnight next week.

DNREC Reminds Residents and Visitors Delaware’s Open Burning Ban Begins May 1

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control reminds residents and visitors to the First State that Delaware’s annual open burning ban takes effect Thursday, May 1 and continues through Sept. 30 and is in place to help protect air quality during what’s also known as the ozone season.

During the statewide ban, most outdoor burning is not allowed. Cooking fires, recreational campfires and ceremonial bonfires are still permitted year-round when they use firewood, charcoal, propane, or natural gas.

DNREC, DPH Call for Heightened Tick Awareness

As Delawareans spend more time outdoors this spring and summer, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) Division of Public Health (DPH) are reminding residents to take simple steps to avoid tick bites and reduce the risk of tick-borne illness. Ticks are active in Delaware year-round, not just in warmer months, and can be found in wooded, brushy and grassy areas.
