Results in the Abbott districts aren\’t improving, according to David Sciarra, executive director of the Education Law Center.
\”We were making progress up until 2004, and for the last two years they\’ve either gone down and this year they\’re pretty much flat,\” said Sciarra, adding it is troubling in that the new school funding formula limits the aid increases the state\’s poorest districts have received in the past.
Willa Spicer, a deputy education commissioner, said the new funding formula won\’t hinder the progress of past years in the Abbott districts.
