Parents across America frustrated by the public underfunding of their public schools may not even mind that new public school facilities now carry names like the ShopRite of Brooklawn Center (in Brooklawn, New Jersey), Rust-Oleum Field (in Vernon Hills, Illinois), and Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union Stadium (in Broward County, Florida), given that the corporations in question put in hundreds of thousands of dollars towards construction. But again, such privatisation opens the doors to a commercialisation of educational institutions that in time infects schools both public and private, and that creates a less pluralistic and diversified learning environment…
