An elite runner at Hillsborough High School who last month was named the Courier News Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year died Tuesday night when he was struck by a train, authorities confirmed today. Advertisement
Jason Walton, 18, described by one coach as \”tremendously focused and so easy to coach it\’s ridiculous,\” was killed by a train at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday on the Norfolk Southern tracks about 500 feet west of Beekman Lane, authorities said.
Walton was entering his senior year.
