McGINNIS, Joseph P., Age 85, of Brooklawn, on January 2, 2009. LEGACY Joseph was born and lived in Philadelphia for all his early life before enlisting in the US Army and Air Force. He proudly served his country during WWII and later became a member of the local VFW Post and American Legion Post # 72. He played semi-pro football with the Lamont Shamrocks for a time but will always be known as a true Eagles and Notre Dame fan. Joseph could often be found dancing the night away with Teresa or fishing in Sea Isle City. He also spent much of his time volunteering at Cooper Hospital, as a Fireman in Brooklawn and as a member of the 60+ Club.
FAMILY Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Theresa R. (nee Killion); Devoted father of Joseph (Eileen), Thomas J., James, Mary Jane Sloan (Joe) and Kathleen Buchanan (Brad); Loving grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of one; Dear brother of Margaret \”Peggy\” Friel (Ed) and the late James and Mary McGinnis.
