A moment of silence was asked for during last week’s Gloucester City Council meeting.
Mayor William James said,\” It is with a sad heart that I ask for a moment of silence in recognition of the sudden passing of a friend and city employee of the Housing Department, John Stiefel.\”
The mayor added, \”John was a dedicated employee who enforced the department’s standards in a most compassionate manner. Our sympathy goes out to all of his family, co-workers and friends.\”
Before moving further, the mayor then asked for another moment of silence in recognition of the sudden passing of Marge Gorman, the wife of the late Assemblyman Francis Gorman and the mother of former Mayor Robert Gorman.
