The City Rivalry between the Lions and Rams

By CNB Sports

It is said that \”Good things come to those who wait\”, well to Brett Darrow a four year varsity Basketball player at GHS beating the Rams of GCHS 39 – 33 was not worth the wait. Darrow along with fellow senior Matt Gorman are the only returning varsity players on the Lions.

The current varsity squad made up mostly of seniors Darrow, Gorman, Wes Buecher, Sam Pierman, Robert Filer, Byron Mc Elway, Mike Hopson, Dan Delaney and Domingo Mercedes were all in grammar school when Wyatt Haas led the Lions to victory over the Rams.

Most of the Senior players also played in the Thanksgiving Day football game against the Rams and went home never beating the Rams during there 4 years. So, the win was bitter sweet.
