Funeral services were held for George E. Applebee, 84, of Mt. Ephraim, who passed away on February 3, 2009.

Beloved husband of the late Cora Jean (nee Davis). Devoted father of Neda McDonald and George A., Jr. Dear father-in-law of Tom McDonald. Loving grandfather of Thomas, Jr. and Timothy.

Mr. Applebee was an Army vet of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 72, Brooklawn. Mr. Applebee retired from Fischer & Porter, Warminster, PA, after over 25 years of service.

Interment at Woodbury Memorial Park, Woodbury.

DORIS R. GARDNER formerly of Bellmawr


Funeral services were held for Doris R. Gardner, 88 (nee Sigafoos), of FL, formerly of Bellmawr and Newfield, NJ, who passed away on January 30, 2009.

Born Sept. 7, 1920, daughter of the late Walter and Harriet (Courter) Sigafoos, sister of the late Walter Sigafoos and loving wife of the late Norman H. Gardner.

Doris was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia and a homemaker and Brownie Troop leader in Bucks County, PA.

She was a loving mother of nine children, two of which, Norman and Gaynor, preceded her in death. Surviving children are: Lynn Gaun (Tom) of Kintersville, PA, Norma Griffith (Robert) of Newville, PA, Carol of Apopka, FL, Calvin of Orlando, FL, John (Marie) of Sewell. Larry of Millville. Deborah Gardner (companion of Ralph Ferrick) of Mt. Ephraim; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.

Bill Mahoney, of Bellmawr, past president of Ironworkers Local #401, Volunteer Fireman for 51 Years

William \”Bill\” Mahoney

MAHONEY, William (Bill) On February 14, 2009 of Bellmawr, formerly of Camden. Age 86. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Besso). Devoted father of Elaine Kennedy (Harold), Kathleen Donlin (Brendon), Michele Slivak (Michael), and William Mahoney (Suzanne). Loving grandpop of Krista, Jonathan, Matthew, Leah, Caitlin, Michael, and Sadie. Brother Bill to Charmaine Wilson, Jeannette Born (Ray), Sister Elaine Mahoney, O.S.F., James Mahoney (Shirley), and the late June Langan, Michael, Joseph, Charles, and John Mahoney.

Bill served in the Pacific in World War II with his five brothers, and was a proud member of VFW Posts Bellmawr and Runnemede\’s award winning dart league. A lifelong member and former President of Ironworkers Local Union #401 (PA), Bill taught the apprentice Ironworkers class for many years. Life member of Bellmawr Fire Company #1 since 1958 with 51 years of active service. Charter member of the Rio Fishing Club and Hibernian Club. Bill was a prolific reader and loved gardening. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He attended their sporting events, plays and other activities. He was a wonderful man who loved life, God, his family and his country. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him – to know him was to love him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 7 to 9pm Thursday evening and Friday morning from 9:15am to 10:15am at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Mass Friday morning 11am Annunciation BVM Church, Bellmawr. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Bill\’s memory to Wachovia Bank, Rt. 130, Brook-lawn, NJ 08030 for the Education Fund for his adored grandchildren. KENNETH L. HAUSER of Bellmawr


A Memorial Mass was held at Annunciation BVM Church, Bellmawr for Kenneth L. Hauser, 51, of Palmetto, FL formerly of Bellmawr and Collingswood, who died January 15, 2009.

Born in Philadelphia and moved to Palmetto in 1988. Ken was an avid fan of his children’s sports teams. He was associated with the youth group at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Parish, FL and the Braden River Soccer Club.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret \”Maggie\”. He is survived by his daughter, Katie and his son, Will and his devoted parents, William and Katherine Hauser of Bellmawr. Dear brother of William, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Bradenton, FL, his sister Susan Yeatman and her husband Duane of Dallas, TX, and his brother James and his wife Marian of Bellmawr. Ken was a much loved brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and a friend to many. He will be sadly missed.

Beloved wife of the late Dominic A. Persick. Devoted mother of Lawrence D. Persick (Madeline) and the late Robert Persick. Loving grandmother of Skip, Mike, Kim Persick and Rae Ellen McMorrow. Great-grandmother of four.

Entombment was in New Saint Mary Mausoleum, Bellmawr.
