Robert Milligan of RecycleBank, Inc., told Mayor John Soubasis and Council that their participation in a pilot program would make Brooklawn the first town in the county to use their own trash cans for recycling with the company.
\”We have been operating in Westville for the last two years picking up single stream recyclables, and our technology is being used in 17 states so far,\” Milligan said during February’s Council meeting.
Westville purchased the special, 20-gallon trash cans encoded with the residents’ own bar code, whereby they would receive rewards for the amount of their trash to be used for shopping coupons.
