On March 8, 2009. Age 83. Of West Deptford. Formerly of Brooklawn. Loved and care for by his devoted wife of 56 years, Jackie M. (nee Simonin). Devoted father of Joseph Jay Amato (Debra), \"Cross James J. Amato (Cathy) and Jackie Lynn Imperato (Robert). Loving grandfather of Kristie, Allie, Nick, Danielle, Michele and Gina. Devoted brother of John (Ann), Rocky (Estella), Theresa (late Armand), Frank (Rita), Marie and Anthony (Cheryl). Survived by many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Artie.

Joseph was born and raised in South Camden. Was a resident of Brooklawn for over 50 years. Joseph proudly served our Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked over 40 years as a Bread Salesman for Freihofer’s and Wonderbread.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday morning from 8:15 to 10:15 am at McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Saint Maurice R.C. Church: 401 Community Rd. at U.S. Route 130 South, Brooklawn.

Interment with Military Honors Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Monroe Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joseph’s name to Lighthouse Hospice: 1040 N.
