In Corzine\’s three years, property taxes jumped nearly 20 percent; as candidate, he pledged to lower them by 40 percent in four years.
SINCE JANUARY, I have received dozens upon dozens of messages from people all over New Jersey who are hurting, scared, desperate and angry. They are young and old, married and single, working and jobless. Their stories are heartbreaking, and none of them believes his or her voice is being heard by Governor Corzine and the Legislature.
Marilyn from Oxford says she and her husband had to sell their home of 10 years. Why? \”We never missed a payment or have ever been late [but] because of unreasonable property taxes we were forced to sell before the situation gets any worse.\”
