In the Japanese National Championship Game, Chiba City Little League defeated Izumisano Little League, from Izumisano City, 17-4; and finished the 16-team tournament with a 4-0 record.

Chiba City Little League, located near Tokyo, joins Asia-Pacific Champion Kuei-Shan Little League from Chinese Taipei; and Latin America Region Champion Coquivacoa Little League of Maracaibo, Venezuela, as participants in the 63rd Little League Baseball World Series.

Continues Innovative Product Launches with Item to Help Young Ballplayers Learn Proper Footwork

The one of a kind, patented training item helps coaches and parents teach kids correct, safe offensive and defensive footwork on the baseball and softball diamonds. The product is another key addition to the company’s innovative product line which already includes the patented V-Grip Handle line of baseball and softball bats and \”9X SERIES\” Fielding Gloves.

This photo of a aquarium test kit was sent in today to CNB by a Gloucester City resident. She writes, \”I just washed my face and felt a burning sensation on my skin. There was a strong smell of ammonia. I grabbed the test kit and filled it with water from my faucet. The gauge, calculated in parts per million or milligrams per liter, reads between 2.0 and 4.0\”.

Recently the Gloucester City Water Department released a statement to residents about the water being responsible for killing pond and aquarium fish. A number of people have posted comments recently complaining about the quality of the City\’s water.

It reads as follows,

Construction continues at the Water Department. To date 300 pilings have been set with 100 more left to do.

The Gloucester City Utilities Department has also made required modifications to the treatment and operations of the plant. These changes have had minimal impact on water quality or quantity, although interruptions were anticipated.

Recently on or about the third week of June to the first week of July, possible water problems have been reported concerning loss of aquarium and pond fish. Resulting from our investigations, we believe that the combination of chlorine and associated by-products had an acute affect on fish. This situation in no way suggests that there is a health concern to the residents of the City.

The Gloucester City Utility Department continues its promise to deliver proper water quality and quantity in accordance with all state and federal regulations. In this 3-hour hands-on session, participants will learn to identify monarch butterflies in the field, explore its life-cycle and habitat requirements, observe and collect one of New Jersey\’s native butterfly species, and learn to raise and care for caterpillars.

POHLIG,Helenmay Eileen Patricia (Nee Ryan), on July 13, 2009 surrounded by family at her home, age 88 of Bellmawr, New Jersey, formerly of Colwyn, Pennsylvania; born February 18, 1921; devoted daughter of the late Leo Michael Ryan and Helen Isabelle Ryan (nee Mercer); pre-deceased by her loving husband Frederick Walter Pohlig; beloved sister of Beatrice Warren (Albert), the late Leonia Greenleaf, and the late Mildred Frazier; loving mother of Suzanne M. Belmont (Albert) and Frederick L. Pohlig; loving grandmother to Jeannette M. Taulman (Joseph), Claudia I. Pohlig, Frederick L. Pohlig, Jr. and Albert M. Belmont, III (Marie); also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Worked in the trust department for Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia for more than 25 years. She lived much of her life in Darby and Colwyn, Pennsylvania until she moved to Bellmawer, NJ. A loving mother and grandmother, she helped raise three generations of Pohligs. She will be remembered for her abiding love, caring and thoughtfulness for her family, her devotion to her husband Frederick, her junkets to neighborhood flea markets and her hospitality at her wonderfully and carefully furnished homes.
