RIAA Asks Schoolkids To Assist With Propaganda

Last week, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced an update to Music-Rules!, its flagship \”curriculum\” for teaching copyright law to schoolkids.

We wrote about Music-Rules! and similar industry propaganda efforts in May, outlining some of their falsehoods and biases. For instance, the RIAA tells kids, \”Never copy someone else\’s creative work without permission from the copyright holder\” — omitting the important right to make creative fair use of existing content. It also coins a misleading term, \”songlifting,\” (which the curriculum says is \”just as bad as shoplifting\”). Perhaps most disturbing of all given that the curriculum is supposed to be adopted by schools, it teaches kids bad math as part of its lessons on peer to peer file-sharing.

ROWAN MEN’S SOCCER TIES THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY, 1-1

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men’s soccer team tied The College of New Jersey, 1-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday night.

Rowan is 4-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference. TCNJ has a 3-2-3 record with a 1-0-1 NJAC mark.

After a scoreless first half, the Lions got on the scoreboard first at 64:08. Midfielder Brian Galicia (sr. Brick, NJ/Ocean Twp.) kicked the ball out of a crowd in front, barely crossing the goal line. Four minutes and 38 seconds later, Profs’ forward Julian Berrios (fr. Lakewood, NJ/Calvary Academy) tied the game. Berrios sent the ball into the upper left corner of the goal after it was deflected off a defender.

Gloucester Mustangs Have Successful Golf Outing

The Gloucester Mustangs Youth Football Organizations 1^st Golf Outing was a huge success. We would like to thank the following people and Business’s for helping make it such a great day. This fundraiser helps us keep our registration costs for the young players lower than everyone else in our league.

First off, special thanks to the Sportsman AC for use of their hall and to Rich from Dolson Family Catering for the great food for the Golfers afterwards. Philadelphia port adds direct cargo shipments from Europe

The Port of Philadelphia is adding direct container service from Europe in hopes of

cushioning the financial blow felt from the global recession.

The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority and Holt Logistics Corp., Gloucester City, N.J., announced recently it has collaborated with Mediterranean Shipping Co. SA, Geneva, to provide weekly direct container service to the port beginning in October, according to a release from the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.
