Law Allows Diabetic Students to Self-Medicate in School;

Provides Training for Teachers, Aides and Bus Drivers

(TRENTON) – Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Jack Conners, Joan M. Voss and Cleopatra G. Tucker to create individualized health care plans for students with diabetes and training in diabetes care for school employees was recently signed into law by Gov. Jon S. Corzine.

\”Diabetes is a disease that requires constant personal management,\” said Conners (D-Camden/Burlington). \”Until now, state law required students with diabetes to visit the school nurse for any and all medication, which was at best unfair to their education and at worst dangerous to their health.\”

All-Session Tickets for 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships on Sale Now

Edison, N.J. – All-session tickets for the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center are on sale now.

\”This year the MAAC celebrates ‘The Magic of March\’ again at the Times Union Center in Albany,\” notes Richard J. Ensor, Commissioner of the MAAC. \”The pre-sale of the championship is very encouraging as the league seeks to surpass last year\’s record crowd.\”

\”We are very happy to host the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championship at the Times Union Center here in Albany, NY,\” stated Bob Belber, General Manager – Times Union Center. \”The college basketball fans in this market have proven that they will really fill the seats for the MAAC Tournament when it is hosted in Albany. Over 50,000 people attended the event this past March. A high-energy atmosphere with a record breaking, huge crowd last year should at least allow Albany to be considered for the potential to host the MAAC Tournament in future years.\”

The championships will take place on March 4-8, crowing the MAAC Champions in men\’s and women\’s basketball. The winners earn the league\’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Basketball Championships. In 2009, over 50,000 fans attended the five-day event.

A limited number of premium seats, located in the fourth row courtside, feature two plush, padded seats at a cocktail table with in-seat food and beverage service while you enjoy the game. Tickets are available for $400 per seat or $800 per table.

All-session tickets located in the 100 level of the Times Union Center are $104.

A record-number of 652 all-session tickets were sold earlier during a pre-sale made available to season-ticket holders at the 10 MAAC member institutions.

Individual session tickets will go on sale Monday, February 1.

STOCKTON OSPREYS UPDATE 10/13/09

WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM WINS THREE STRAIGHT
(October 6) Richard Stockton swept all nine matches for a 9-0 victory over Manhattanville. Christy Alexander (Centerville, IN/Centerville) rallied for a 6-7, 6-4, (10-8 tiebreaker) victory while Kelli Williams (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) fought back for a 3-6, 6-2, (10-6 tiebreaker) win. Alexander and Williams also rolled to an 8-1 win in doubles.

Stephanie Krupa (Woodbury Hts./Gateway) won 6-2, 6-4 and Jen Sikora (Dorothy/Buena) posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory. Krupa and Sikora combined for an 8-5 triumph in doubles. Ana Estevez (Pennsauken/Pennsauken) cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 singles win and teamed with Melissa Wernoch (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) for an 8-6 doubles victory.
(October 8) Richard Stockton swept all nine matches for a 9-0 victory over Cabrini that was its second win in three days. Kelli Williams led the Ospreys with a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory. Nicole Rodriguez (North Bergen/North Bergen) rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win and Jen Sikora breezed to a 6-0, 6-3 victory, completing a trio of Stockton players who posted at least one shutout set.
