BALTIMORE, MD. – Joseph Boylan, Loyola University Maryland\’s athletic director since 1991, will retire in July 2010, the University announced today. Boylan will continue to serve the University as athletic director emeritus.
\”Joe Boylan\’s contributions to Loyola\’s intercollegiate athletics program are impossible to quantify,\” said Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J., Loyola\’s president. \”In addition to leading the Greyhound teams to extraordinary success in competition, Joe has shaped a program distinguished by integrity and sportsmanship, where student-athletes are always students first. His day-to-day leadership will be greatly missed, but I am very pleased he will continue to lend his wisdom to our community as athletic director emeritus.\”
