New Pastor for First Baptist Church, Gloucester City

The First Baptist Church, Monmouth and Sussex streets, Gloucester City welcomed their new (interim) pastor, the Rev. Dr. Robert L. (Bob) Muse, on Sunday, September 20.

Dr. Muse was born in western Pennsylvania and ordained to the Christian ministry by the Pittsburgh Baptist Association in September 1969.

He is a retired American Baptist pastor and college professor. He continues to do adjunct teaching at Eastern University and Palmer Seminary, along with some pulpit supply and Christian Education work for Baptist Churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Muse has served Baptist churches in Trenton, Jacobstown, Cherry Hill, and Westmont New Jersey and Canadian Baptist Churches in Wollowdale (North Toronto) and St. Catherines, Ontario.

He has previous experience as a Professor of Bible at Ontario Bible College in Toronto, and an Adjunct Instructor and Assistant Professor of Bible/Theology at Eastern University and Assistant Professor of Organizational Management at the Campolo College of Graduate and Professional Studies of Eastern University.

Dr. Muse has done formal arts and theological studies at Eastern (Baptist) College (now Eastern University), Princeton Theological Seminary, Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly Eastern Baptist Seminary), and Em-manual College, University of Toronto, ONT, Canada.

The interim pastor currently resides with his wife, Carol, in Marlton. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Dr. Bob Muse said he is excited to be in Gloucester City, and is eagerly looking forward to his work with the church and its neighbors here.
