Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 18 at St. Maurice Church, 401 Community Road, Brooklawn for Esma V. Tussey of Brooklawn who passed away on November 14. She was 81 years old.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Esma later moved to Brooklawn where she has resided for more than 55 years. She along with her husband Rip raised four children there and she has been a faithful parishioner of St, Maurice Church. Esma\’s passion was her home and family. She devoted her life to caring for them and making her home a place where memories were made.
Esma enjoyed tending to her garden, doting on her children and grandchildren getting lost in a good book and occasionally playing scrabble. She volunteered tirelessly in her community with Meals on Wheels and Focus on Literacy and in her earlier years was a longtime member of the Brooklawn P.T.A.
Esma is the beloved wife of the late John D. \”Rip\” Tussey; loving mother of John \”Jack\” Tussey, Dora Morrow, Paul Tussey and Adam Tussey; dear sister of Prue Kenney and the late Enrique Vergara, Jr and Narciso Vergara; grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 2.
Viewing Tuesday evening 6:30 to 9 PM and Wednesday morning 8:30 to 9:15 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Maurice R. C. Church, Brooklawn, Entombment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
