Dearest Family and Friends,
I am writing this letter to ask for your helping hand. I am planning to have a Beef and Beer Benefit for my father Michael Burke. I have this event tentatively scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 6th at the Magnolia Recreation Center.
The reason I need your help is that my 52 year old father went to the doctor’s as he was not feeling well and was told to go to the Emergency Room to have a stent. This procedure was started and was unable to be completed as his condition was much more severe. He was then told by doctor’s that he would need to have a triple bypass but instead he ended up having a quadruple bypass. He has been diagnosed with severe degenerative heart disease and his heart is only functioning at 30%. Although this surgery will assist with his condition, he is not in the clear and has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
The biggest issue and why I am asking for your assistance is that he has no medical insurance and has had no employment due to his business catching fire in April 2009. The medical bills are starting to become overwhelming.
I am asking you as my family and friends to please lend a hand in any way possible. Your time, ideas, donations, selling tickets, buying tickets, getting donations etc. will be greatly appreciated.
I have enclosed a donation letter (see below) that can be used to ask a business or a friend for a donation for the Chinese Auction. Please make copies if you can assist in getting more than one donation. Something so small can mean a whole lot in this situation. I will pick up any donations if needed. Please get a business card or the business information if you are able to get a donation as I would like to extend my thanks personally to each any everyone of them at the end of this Benefit.
If you would like to send a donation yourself, please call me or mail it to the information provided below. Any donation will help with the start up costs of having this benefit.
