The 3-session program will begin on Wednesday, April 14 at 4:30 PM. Students will learn how to handle the family dog and teach him some simple obedience skills. Dawn Watson, pictured here with Jennifer Testa and Brett Pittman, first graduates of the program, stresses the importance of responsible dog ownership.
\”Young people can make a tremendous difference in a dog\’s life,\” she states. \”These classes address canine health issues, how to manage behavior problems, and teaching the dog to respect all family members. My methods are extremely gentle and respectful.\”
The teens work with a small, well-behaved dog in the class. Homework includes applying the knowledge in the teen\’s home environment. Enrollment is limited to people between the ages of 13-16 years of age. Parental permission is a must. There is no charge for residents of Gloucester City. Class enrollment will be closed when 6 students have applied.
