Hunting and Fishing News for April 2

Peregrine Webcam

The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife\’s Peregrine Webcam is now streaming live video from the \"Hunting-and-Fishing-October-1927-1\" nestbox atop a building in Jersey City. Managed by the division\’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program (ENSP), the box has consistently produced young for this endangered species since 2000.
The female has laid four eggs and incubation appears to have begun. Viewers can learn more about the falcons and follow their progress through postings in Nestbox News.
The project is supported by donations alone – your support through the purchase of Conserve Wildlife License Plates and the state Income Tax Check-Off for Wildlife enables the work of ENSP to continue. Please remember the program when completing your state tax form this year.

NJ Deer Hunter Forum

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is hosting a New Jersey Deer Hunter Forum on three evenings in April on Antler Point Restrictions (APR). Fish and Wildlife deer biologists will present deer data for south Jersey deer management zones (DMZs) that currently have APR. Deer data will also be presented for DMZs 30, 31, 34, 43 and 47, where the South Jersey branch of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) has requested APR regulations.
The forum will allow deer hunters who hunt south Jersey DMZs to see data for existing APR zones and deer data from the DMZs proposed for APR. The information provided at the forum may be helpful for deer hunters when completing an upcoming survey Fish and Wildlife will send to solicit deer hunter opinion on the QDMA proposal to implement APR in DMZs 30, 31, 34, 43 and 47.
