It\’s imperative that anyone interested in reintroducing the concept of \”conservation\” to Trenton, and reminding our legislators and policy makers that we conservationists support and expect sound game management policy, attend the bear policy meeting on Tuesday.
Regardless of whether or not there is a bear hunt our attendance demonstrates our commitment to the outdoors and that we are willing to get out of our comfort zones whether it\’s to support a bear hunt or to prove we will go to the polls to vote in elections.
Our attendance is not as much about a bear hunt as it is our willingness to show we are grassroots activists in our support for fishing and hunting as game management tools that support sensible conservation policy.

In January I wrote Governor Christie about my concerns of the state building the $65 $\"6a00d8341bf7d953ef011571114c5a970c-800wi\"$ million Middle School in Gloucester City. Specifically I mentioned the escalating cost, the declining enrollment figures and the fact that Gloucester City would be better served with building homes on the proposed site as it would help with needed tax ratable.

The Governor referred my letter to Bernard E. Piaia Jr., Director, Office of School Facilities.

Bishop Issues Decree Establishing Emmaus Catholic Community of Mt. Ephraim

$\"St$ Bishop Joseph Galante formally announced Friday, May 7 that the parishes of Sacred Heart (Mount Ephraim) and Holy Maternity (Audubon) will unite and the new parish resulting from the consolidation, Emmaus Catholic Community, will be established June 9, 2010.

The announcement establishing the new parish was made in a formal decree, which was published in the May 7 edition of the Catholic Star Herald, the diocesan newspaper.

It is the fifteenth decree issued by Bishop Joseph Galante in diocesan-wide reconfiguration of parishes announced two years ago to strengthen parishes and improve pastoral care to the people of the diocese.

Father Hugh J. Bradley, Priest Convener for the consolidation, has been named pastor of the new parish for a six year term.

Emmaus Catholic Community, whose boundaries will be those of the existing parishes, will serve about 1,700 families. The seat of the parish will be Sacred Heart Church.

The existing parishes are just 1.5 miles apart. Originally a mission of St. Rose of Lima, Haddon

Former Jersey City Councilman Sentenced to a Year and a Day in Prison for Taking Bribes in Exchange for Future Influence

NEWARK, NJ—Philip J. Kenny, a former Jersey City Councilman, was sentenced today to a year and a day in prison for accepting $5,000 in bribes in exchange for his agreeing to obtain real estate development approvals through his future official influence and authority, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

George W. Wiese, Sr., of Gloucester City; Garden State Motors Employee for 26 Years

$\"Obit_photo.php\"$ George W. Wiese Sr., of Gloucester City died on May 6, 2010. He was 97 years old.

George was born on the family cotton farm in Kurten, TX. George was the fifth child of ten of his parents, Ewald and Lena Wiese. He is the last surviving sibling.German was the language spoken in the home until George was nearing ten years old. He was true to his German roots and he was conscientious to the extreme and he certainly led by example.

George met his wife, Elizabeth in a World War II service club in Philadelphia. Though the Army and life led him from Philadelphia, he soon returned and they were married on April 10, 1948.George worked for Garden State Motors in Pennsauken for 26 years and he was early nearly every day.

George read the Bible every day and his current copy was well worn. It was always a great day when George would get up, feel healthy, go to work and have his family visit him. It was a blessed life.
