West Milford postpones fireworks show after bear attack
A northern New Jersey community is postponing its holiday fireworks display as authorities search for a bear that attacked a hiker and his dog last week, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
Officials said Tuesday that the annual Thunder in the Highlands fireworks event originally scheduled for Friday in West Milford, about 35 miles northwest of Newark, has been postponed until July 9.
It\’s to be held in the same park where the bear charged the man and dog who were walking on an off-road bicycle trail.
