NOTICE: POWER RESTORED YEA!…Gloucester City Residents Public Safety Alert!

UPDATE: An electrical transformer went out at the intersection of Market \"6a00d8341bf7d953ef011570fb7c53970c-120wi\" Street and Greenwood Avenue around 12:30 pm today. Electrical service was lost in the Highland Park section of the City and also in the Riverview Heights area. Traffic was detoured in the immediate area from Market Street to side streets for fear of someone getting hurt.

It is not known at this time what caused the outage.

Crews from Public Service Electric and Gas arrived around 1:30 pm. At first they expected the repairs to take several hours. And told local authorities service would be out until 7 pm. But they were able to fix it sooner then they thought. Power was restored at 2:15 pm.

Just goes to show you prayers do work. Thank God, you really don’t miss air conditioning until you don’t have it. The temperature at the high school reads 115 degrees.

Thank you to Battalion Fire Chief Bob Williams and Police Chief George Berglund for their help in getting the word out about the problem to the residents. ~Bill Cleary
